The savory vibe is lifted by a quick drizzle of maple syrup – and some fresh fruit makes an ideal accompaniment, particularly at the start of the day.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bagel, sliced
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp butter

Method

Melt the butter on a low heat in a non-stick frying pan.

Break an egg into the center of each bagel and cook for 2-3 minutes for the desired doneness.

Put the maple syrup into the pan and cook for 1 minute, then pour over the eggs.

Accompany with fresh fruit and serve immediately.
